This is an historic day for Britain, Europe and – on a more local level – Goldsmiths.
The Leave result in the EU referendum presents all of us with uncertainty and questions.
Unfortunately, it also leaves higher education with a number of unknowns – although at Goldsmiths we are taking action to reassure students, staff and other stakeholders over our position.
We are also emailing all our students to provide them with similar reassurance and information.
One thing is for certain: Goldsmiths is renowned for building friendships across the world. The referendum result will not change this.
Of course there will be ramifications following the result – for the country and for our sector. It is still early days but Universities UK, our sector body, is looking in to what this vote means for higher education. Their thoughts can be found here.
We will keep you informed of any of the questions and challenges which arise following this vote.
But I know that using the ability, knowledge and creativity for which Goldsmiths is renowned we will address these issues together.
